New CT Law on Remote/Hybrid Meetings

On April 28, 2022, Governor Ned Lamont signed House Bill No. 5269 – An Act Concerning Remote Meetings Under the Freedom of Information Act. This act removes the “sunset date” for conducting remote and hybrid meetings, which was originally set for April 30, 2022. Under this new law, public entities, including municipalities, may continue to hold remote and hybrid meeting so long as those meetings comply with requirements under existing law.
