SCRCOG coordinates planning efforts involving the environment and sustainability. Our support is primarily focused on these topic areas: Climate Planning, Coastal Resilience, Hazard Mitigation, Regional Trails, Solid Waste/Recycling/Food Waste Diversion, and Other Sustainability Programs. 

Our Climate Planning work involves both the upcoming Regional Resilience Working Group as well as the Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG) Program. Our Coastal Resilience measures involved the development of a Regional Framework for Coastal Resilience in Southern CT in association with the Greater Bridgeport Regional Council and The Nature Conservancy. SCRCOG also completed a Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan for our 15 municipalities. In addition, we managed the Regional Recreational Trails Mapping Project, provide a selection of services for our municipalities pertaining to Solid Waste, Recycling, and Food Waste Diversion, and assist our municipalities with other sustainability-based measures.
