Job Opening: Regional Housing Program Manager

The South Central Regional Council of Governments (SCRCOG) seeks a qualified person for the following position.

The Regional Housing Program Manager will assist and support SCRCOG in implementing statutory requirements related to regional housing growth and affiliated initiatives. Specifically, the Regional Housing Program Manager will: 

  • Coordinate and help develop SCRCOG’s Regional Housing Growth Plan and its ongoing updates, working closely with member municipalities to promote plan alignment, to provide technical assistance, and facilitate informed policy development. 
  • Manage the Regional Housing Working Group 
  • Oversee regional housing data collection and reporting 
  • Support other necessary requirements under state statutes 
  • Perform additional tasks based on emerging housing needs, legislative changes, and funding opportunities. 

The Regional Housing Program Manager exercises considerable initiative, independent judgment, and problem-solving skills, and plays a key role in driving
measurable regional housing outcomes, including increased housing production, coordinated inter-municipal action, and effective regional housing strategies. 

To be considered, applicants must meet these minimum qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in urban or regional planning, public administration, public policy, political science or a related field 
  • AND, a minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience ideally in a municipal or municipal-related organization with direct
    experience with housing development, management, permitting, or site plan review 
  • OR, an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience 

Salary range is $70,000 – $90,000, commensurate with applicant’s experience and qualifications. This is a full-time salaried position at 35 hours/week and includes a generous benefits package.
