2026 Active Transportation Microgrant Program Funding
Fully Allocated Program Now Closed
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) Active Transportation Microgrant Program has reached its available funding limit for the current grant cycle. Due to the high level of interest and demand, all available funding has been allocated, and the program is no longer accepting applications at this time.
SCRCOG would like to thank the municipalities, schools, school districts, nonprofit organizations, and community groups that submitted applications and expressed interest in advancing walking, biking, and rolling opportunities throughout our region. The strong response highlights the continued demand for active transportation programs that improve safety, accessibility, and mobility across Connecticut.
Looking Ahead
The Active Transportation Microgrant Program is expected to reopen in 2027, subject to the availability of state funding and program guidance from CTDOT. Information regarding future funding opportunities, application requirements, and program timelines will be shared as soon as it becomes available.
Organizations interested in applying during a future funding round are encouraged to:
- Maintain their registration with the CTDOT Safe Routes to School Program.
- Continue developing active transportation project ideas.
- Monitor the SCRCOG website for future announcements and funding updates.
- Follow SCRCOG communications for the latest program information.
About the Program
