Metropolitan Transportation Plan 2055

About the SCRCOG Metropolitan Transportation Plan

As the regional planning agency and Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), SCRCOG is responsible for preparing a long-range plan that establishes the region’s vision for the future of transportation. The SCRCOG’s Metropolitan Transportation Plan presents a comprehensive evaluation of transportation needs and priorities for the region through 2055.

Planning for the Future

The MTP looks beyond today’s transportation challenges to consider how the region’s transportation system should evolve over the coming decades. Changes in population, employment, land use, technology, travel patterns, and the environment will continue to influence how people and goods move throughout the SCRCOG region. This plan will identify opportunities to address these changes while supporting a transportation system that is safe, reliable, accessible, sustainable, and responsive to the needs of the region.
