The South Central Regional Council of Governments (SCRCOG) seeks a qualified person for the following position.

Position: Transportation Planner

Location: SCRCOG Office

Closing Date: Monday, February 5, 2024 at 12PM local time, or until position is filled

The Transportation Planner is responsible for performing general transportation and transit planning work. They assist in preparing Transportation Planning documents for the MPO.

This position reports to, and works under the general direction of, Executive Director and the Deputy Director/Director of Transportation Planning. The Transportation Planner exercises considerable initiative and independent judgment within an assigned area of responsibility, and work is subject to evaluation based on results obtained.

To be considered, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in urban or regional planning, public administration, public policy, political science or a related field, and a minimum of 1-3 years of professional experience ideally in a planning-related organization; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.

Salary will be commensurate with applicant’s experience and qualifications (subject to approval of SCRCOG Board). Health insurance, dental insurance, and vision insurance benefits are available with employee contribution. Participation in a retirement plan is also available after a 90-day waiting period.
